Sigh. Makes my PC and laptop arrangement look so paltry. Think I'll go jump off a speaker stack... =/

lol I wish I had draped rooms in my home, thats my workplace. Theres nothing wrong with a simple laptop and SAM setup and let me tell you why:
Plenty of people on ER proove you can do 5 star shows with just a laptop and a two bob mic, and likewise local radio has prooved to us that if you put a nubbin in a £10000 studio, they still sound like a nubbin :)
Dispite the luxuary of all this, the reason I do it here is because my connection at home isn't up to scratch. That said, I've always used varying degrees of hardware in my radio rigs because I'm a very hands on person (just ask all those ladies with banning orders out on me). I hate all that poking around with your mouse. Give me knobs and buttons!
I'm ashamed its a mess because I build it each week as the room is usually left somewhat empty, that takes about two hours, and it takes an hour to pull it all apart again. If it was a permanant feature it would be neater than neat :)
If anyone wants me to bore them with the details of whats going on in that pic just send me a PM and i'll gladly tell you, but I'll spare readers of the public forum :D

We did swap round a few times, but predominantly Caff.
Haaaa
But only because I was pushing the buttons, and button pushers get executive chairs.

Being new and reading this I have a notion to ask a simple, yet complicated question, why not let the Dj's show pics of their set-ups if they show choose. Kinda puts our listeners into our studios a bit and lets them see "us" to a certain extant. Maybe a forum spot or spot on members page where Dj's can post the pics. Might be nice, and might even give a few us some learning cues...;)

People in this forum seem to have a Chair fetish!
I wondered how the expensive equipment (I assume) doesn't fall off the shelf it is balanced on.
Also why don't you get a camera that doesn't turn all photos into a blur :-)
Cya... well listen to ya Tuesday

Lol the mixer was quite well seated. And yeah, his chair is foobared. I am seeing a chair theme at the moment though.
Todays rig, sans Caff, putting a new digital mixer through its paces at work.

Excitingly, theres only a handful in the country. And all the knobs move on their own. Its like a ghostbusters desk. It has pretty colours too :D

Oh come on that's hardly fair :) Some of us broadcast from a dishevelled office with a normal PC surrounded by toys and coffee cups... ahem.
Well at least my chair is in good nick. Leather too, mmmm :)

In the original pic, exactly how much of the rack on the right is actually being used at any time? Awful lot of it seems to be empty :D

This is my updated PC that I got simply to run Trinity (with all its jolly faults ;p). It has a dual core AMD, 2Gb RAM, 400Gb HDD, BFG 8800gt PCI-Ex and an X-Fi Creative Fatal1ty sound card. It runs SAM4, EVE, IRC, Opera and a few other applications all at once with room to spare.
My only limiting factor is the fatness (or lack thereof) of my broadbeans
By the way that nasty beige DVD is going because it's not working very well :D

I am glad that SAM posted that. I really felt poorly that I am just using one PC, a headset mic, and a monitor to make my show of goodness for everyone.

It is mostly empty, just some power and connectors etc for when we use the room for demos at work. Holds a CD player and an amp, but the rest is just to facilitate logical cabling of everything really.
