Due to a woeful lack of interest, this event has been delayed until interest picks up.

I fully endorse this righteous crusade to sort the men from the boys.
I shall be preparing my armies for conflict and getting properly medieval on your asses.

Well you know me and Mr Bobby are up for Medieval II Total War - although I REALLY suck at it.
But it's bloody good fun :)

Ok, with the league starting in the first week of February its time to start experimenting with army setups. Here are the rules.
The Ten Rules of Engagement
1. Battles are to be played out on a standard map with no castle/city, therefore there is no defending or attacking side. However if both parties are willing, a siege map can be played.
2. Each General is given 12000 Florins to purchase his army with. Factions not allowed to take part are the Aztecs, Tirimuids, Mongols and Papacy. Mercenary units are allowed. Any early period units available is allowed, save for Venice and Milan, the use of a Carroccio Standard is not allowed.
3. All battles take place in the Early period, so it is strictly Early period armies only. (This is make the battle more tactical rather than relying on sheer firepower) All Early period units are allowed.
4. You can only play as one faction for the duration of the Crusade.
5. Points are awarded on the tried and tested win/lose/draw scale. A win is 3 points, a Draw is 1 point.
6. Time is of the essence. Both Standard and Siege maps are given 30 minutes from the end of deployment to be concluded.
7. After the battle has concluded one of the Generals must save the Battle Replay and DCC the file to me so i can watch it and award points accordingly, also it means i can mock the failed Generals (which i hope is Blades)
8. Each General is to war with his/her rival General once only. Times of engagement are decided between the opposing Generals to suit.
9. Battles are played on the Gamespy servers, so you will need to sign up to Gamespy unfortunately. Luckily it is free. All versions of the game must match, so i request that all players have the retail version of the game, v1.0.
10. Have fun. Fight well. And may God be with you my Lords.

League table will be drawn out this weekend.

The league table will be available for viewing soon, Malone has kindly taken on the duty of hosting the table on his website. I will provide a link once the table is up for viewing.
If you could let me know what faction you will be taking with you to war then it will be added to the table.

Due to a lack of interest and people backing out of the MTW2 league, it occured to me that people either cant be arsed to play or they dont have the game. Therefore I propose a change of game, from Medieval to Rome. Its an older game thereby more people should have it.
How would you feel about playing Rome instead of Medieval?

Well as you know me and Mister Bobby are well up for a MTW2 tournie - we'll let you know each of our factions soon :)

im a huge total war fan....
im put off signing up tho as those rules are a bit poop :P
the mid period is the best one (i forget what its called), people should be aloud to use what ever faction they want realy, they all have the pros and cons, also you should be able to use any unit avalilble to that faction.
actually the only restriction should be no arty (catapults, cannons etc) unless its a seige map....
well thats just my thoughts anyway. ROME is prob the better multiplayer tho, but both good good fun :)

Zee has good reasons for limiting the factions, pm him and discuss.

Myself and Blades decided that the Early period would give all the factions an equal chance as they are pretty much balanced at the start of the game, whereas High and Late period units are better in some factions where they arent in others.
I only limited the factions because the Papacy faction has the horrendously high morale boosting units and the Aztecs, Tirimuids and Mongols weren't known during the early period or even the High period.

Those factions are only ''balanced'' because they all have basically the same Old boring units :((
I'll /sign.. but it's like saying. "okay, lets have some 2v2 duels ! but you're not allowed to use Mortal strike or BeastialWrath! its OP! "
However, your competition , your rules heh ;)
