Have a read, the patch as downloaded goes to delete your boot.ini file in your root directory instead of the one in your eve directory. If you attempt to reboot XP after patching eve it will go FUBAR. Fixes are posted in that thread, and you can also simply uninstall eve and then download the full trinity client and install from scratch to avoid the issue.
