Ok, so I have been listening for a few weeks and feel I could have time free to help out and do this.

First I have a few questions.

1 - are the openings on the schedule the only thing open?
2 - I understand that what is playing is legal, how is that varified?
3 - Are there restrictions on what can be played?
4 - Is the program all 3 hour sets? (not a problem, just wondering)
5 - Anything else to add would be cool to. =D

1. Only where it says apply here can you apply for the time slots. Other times may open up as you go...but only the initial ones can be claimed.

2. Trust system? I have 6k+ songs, but also have all the CDs listed by artist and genre in my basement. This is if the government comes a knocking and demands to see all the copyrights.

3. Restrictions...depends on the rating of you show. Basically a good idea: No anticountry songs (EX. France sucks, America Rules...think Team America attitude...I don't support that in anyway, was just making an example!!!!!). Also nothing racist, too sexist, or demeaning to others. Play nice in the sandbox and you'll be ok.

4. All time slots are in 3 hr sets. This allows for more DJs, easier to manage, and a wide variety of music for listeners.

5. Please apply! We'd be more than happy to have you come into the family! What station you looking at applying to?

Beautiful thing about Canada, No RIAA or any type of licencing for online radio stations. As long as the stream originates in Canada you can play anything, and our download laws are also very very lax so you can pretty much download any music you want and no one is going to bother you.

It's only when you get into real radio or being a DJ for parties/weddings an such that you need to worry about being legal with the proper licencing and so on.

What sucks though, I can't run DJ's on my station from the US since their stream originates in the US I'd have to pay the fees. But I have found a loop hole. Run a virtual server where the DJ logs into a remote virtual desktop where they have access to the radio software, songs and such and DJ from a Canadian server.

One way to get around some of the US legal concerns. In Canada we have big name Canadian Artists which are AGAINST the record compaines going after people to download since it has shown to actually increase sales of independant artists. It's only the big recording company backed artists that are losing money.

Yeah, I really think I am going to if I have an open time slot. I am currently pst.

Right now I am still working on uploading all of my music to my computer. Its not hard, but each CD does take time. =D

Currently I have been listening to eve radio, have not really looked at the other stations as of yet.

Thanks for the reply.
